Did you tell your teacher about that?

 I had a teacher, Mrs. Whitly. She was like 1200 pounds. If you were bad she would crush you, literally. She would sit her giant ass on your lap until you squealed. She often only had to lay 1 elephant thigh across my frail third grade frame to squish me into submission. Her best friend and teaching partner, we had little teams of teachers at the time, was Mrs. Goings. Her thing was the exploding yard stick. She ALWAYs had a yard stick in hand while teaching. She pointed with it, gestured with it, and paced with it constantly. Should a child nod off, be talking to a friend during lesson, or just not paying attention. she would stroll by on her route that she paced. She, when you were totally unaware, would take that yard stick and slap it fast and flat against your desk. The result was being shocked into full attention by the sound of what sounded like a gunshot and splinters of exploding yard stick flying all over your world. She had a locker in the corner full of yard sticks. Good old D.C. schools.

Good old D.C. schools.

I went to a private school for a year. I remember one teacher who would paddle us troublemakers. He had a paddle like a small cutting board that he had drilled holes through, in the belief that it caused less wind resistance, and he could get up more speed with it.

It sure was a different world back then!

There hasn't been a car in this auction that sold for less than $100,000 in the past three or four hours. Two went for $1,000,000 and one got $1,600,000. Where the heck are these people getting this kind of money?!?

Robert how is your son doing these days?

He's good Deb...not fighting any sinus infections at the moment.

Too funny, i am considering going to the zoo tomorrow if I don't ski. Overnight lows will be -25C(-13F), highs in town tomorrow -15C(5F). I find I must call your brood a bunch of woozies. :D

Lisa and me are headed out for a walk in the snow today, though the temps are to be a bit nicer than tomorrow at -8C (18F)

You're telling me. Today turned out to be a beautiful day...perfect weather for the zoo, but of course we did not go...again. I am gonna try again tomorrow....supposed to warm up to 60.

All:

Silly question ... has anyone here used Photoshop Elements 6? Opinions?

I tried the 30 day trial while in Colorado while at my Dad's house. I was trying to find something to convert raw to jpeg while there, but I was only able to figure it out for one session of converting. After that, I could not for the life of me get the PSE 6 to convert raw to jpeg again.

 I had a teacher, Mrs. Whitly. ....

1. Mr. Geez I Can't Remember His Name Anymore, math teacher: Was a former college baseball superstar. If he heard you goofing off in class, talking out of turn, etc., he would take a chalkboard eraser and chuck it at you full bore and it would hit you square in the chest with a majestic cloud of white chalk dust.

2. Mr. Boomer, science teacher: Had one of those high pressure water fire extinguishers that he would use to wake up any poor napping soul in his class.

3. Mr. Thresher, fourth grade: His hands were made of granite. If you were not paying attention, his hand would slap down on top of your desk and it would sound like a sonic boom. Scared the living daylights out of me more than once.

4. Miss Huntsinger, my first and sixth grade teacher: Her technique of enforcing compliance was to pinch the back of your upper arm, twist if necessary, until you shut up or did what you were supposed to do. Yeah, that hurt.

Oh, the list goes on. I brought out the best in my teachers.....

I tend to ramble. Feel free to put me on ignore.
