Deb, getting used to manual exposure is a great way to learn about the relationship between aperture, shutter speed and film (sensor speed), and something I think everyone should get a grip on. When I learned I had no choice, as that is all there was. Shortly after AV and TV cameras started coming out. I hardly ever shoot in manual now, but use AV or TV. If you are relying on the camera metering for exposure you get the same result. If you need to expose higher or lower than what the camera metering says, I then adjust the Exposure Compensation (EC) to get it right. When I first started using the EC I was always confused as to which way to go. I worked out a little helping saying, "If the background is bright, go to the right" (basically exposing a bit more). Now if I shoot a subject with a dark background I know to move the EC over to the left so I don't over expose the subject. :D\

It is freezing cold here today, I've spent the better part of the morning trying to disinfect my computer, I 'm not quite finished yet as there are still some issues. I think I need to reinstall firefox, can't get it to run at all and am on using IE at the moment.

IE isn't so bad.

I installed FireFox on my Mac, but didn't like the look of it, so went back to Safari instead.

Crissa.

Do a google search for "Hijack This" and download and run the program when you find it.

What it does is make sure that it's loaded before anything else, and then logs exactly what programs are loaded when your system starts up. When you get the log file, post it up here for us to take a look at, it might well be possible to find the acorn that's growing into your trojan problem.

I had Firefox on my computer, too. I really didn't like it. Not too sure why, but I just didn't. So I installed SlightlyWarmButNotTooHotCoyote and it was OK, but ran kinda slow. After a while I tried that HasAReallyHealthyRespectForFireRetriever but it had some glitch where it would allow you to go to a site, but it kept wanting to bring you back to the webpage you started at. I took on a 30 day trial of DressesInClothesToKeepWarmYorkshireTerrier but I think it was designed for a laptop, not a bigger machine. My friend uses the AlwaysTooHotInSummerAndFrickin'HugeSaintBernard program and, while being extremely user friendly, it was just too big to deal with. So, for now, I think I'll stick with BundleOfLoveEnglishSpringerSpaniel.

I tend to ramble. Feel free to put me on ignore.

My stomach is making weird rumbling sounds.

I'm not too sure why...

Not being very computer savvy, I have resorted to reformatting my hard drive a few times to get a clean start. It does take a while to get the programs I have reloaded and updated, but it sure does help performance. I even had some tech help once that burned up over $400 telling me I did not have to do this, they could find the source of the problem and fix it. Well, it never got fixed, and I ended up reformatting anyway. It is real easy to pull all your user docs from your backup.

Dan, sticking to a much simpler browser like HotDog will make things way easier to work with. You were drawn in by the hoopla that comes along with those fancier named programs.

You may be onto something there.

Quite probably the latter. I need to find a good, absorbing book, I think...

Any particular reason it has to be absorbing?
