Here are some shots I took today. My brother and my two cousin's wanted to play airsoft so I decided to photograph the game. After that we started shooting my cousin's compound bows. For the airsoft shooting I was farther up the hill using my 75-300 at the long end most of the time. Some were blurry but it's because I was handholding while standing on a fallen try. For the archery I had my 50/1.4 on the camera.

1.) One of my cousins trying to climb the garage (that's my job ;) )

2.) Other cousin on opposing team.

3.) My bro, second person in 2 vs 1 game against person in first shot.

4.) Run!!!! (I know it's kind of blurry but I kind of liked it.)

5.) Cousin explaining archery to my bro. Jack (cousin with bow) has been into archery for about 2 years now.

6.) Bro firing.

7.) Bro (closest), Jack (my cousin, middle), Me (farthest). The bow my bro was using got in the way of the pic which was actually taken by my other cousin.

Shots 1-4 were taken with my 75-300, mostly near the 300 end. The archery shots were taken with my 50/1.4.

look like fun shots, gotta pointout though, the bows draw length for the guy in green camo is way to short for him, and you all need to relax those front bow hands, you all had a wrist sling on and the bow wont go anywheres, and your cousin should absolutly never draw a bow with no arrow nockd and ready, and of course aiming in a safe manner, if his release had mal functioned the limbs on his bow would have broken possibly injuring himself and others near. and that my archery safty/coaching tips for today lol but great fun shots, i love archery shots

Well, the guy in the camo was using my other cousin's bow, and she is only 13. I'm not sure I see how we were holding the bows too tightly. My cousin has been doing archery for about 2 years so he knows not to dry fire the bow, but pulling it back while it's unloaded is fine (as long as you don't release). I don't know if the bow would break, but I guess it is probably possible.

actually they are all fireing right handed, and i wasnt putting anyone down here, just pointing out the tech flaws thats all, its easy to see that you were all gripping the bow with your front hand, all you really want to do is let it lay in the web of your hand, otherwise you induce torque and its impossibvle to duplicate the amount of torque exactly everytime, now i know this dont matter for just haveing fun, but as a serious taget compeditor and level 2 archery instructor, i just had to point it out lol, and your cousin has never seen a relsease malfunction i take it!!

He got it at a shop here in Maryland, but I don't know if they have a website.

Hahahahaha, that's news to me. I honestly didn't know we were shooting lefties

you werent, those are right handed bows and you were shooting them right handed they way you shoot is determined by which arm you pull with, so, you were drawing with your right hand, so you were shooting right handed, and the bows were right's as well, i do shoot with a guy who shoots a right handed bow left handed, and does very very well, stange to watch though:rolleyes:

Yeah, we were probably gripping tighter than we had too but it was the first time my brother had shot and the second time I had. Nope, I don't think my cousin has ever seen a release malfunction.
