Woo Hoo! I'm getting my son an A570 IS for Christmas!

My family won't celebrate it until we can all get together, which doesn't happen until Saturday.

He's getting 2 1gig cards with it and a small case.

How long do the AA batteries last? I haven't gotten him any rechargables yet. I got him a blister pack of 20 AA batteries but I want him to have to earn money for more or buy rechargables.

Oh, and he's 10 years old. He's gonna FLIP! He loves using my camera while we drive around in my Jeep. I can just see him having power over his own camera. I think I will be creating a monster! (One can hope, anyhow....)

Wow...I wonder who's going to be more excited on his bday.

Nice camera. Yeah, let him earn it. 10 is a good age I guess. I can't remember 10, but why not get him 1 2gb instead of 2 1gb?

Cards crash, get lost, or damaged. Having a backup is a good plan.

I feel it's better to have a few lower capacity memory cards than one large one. Even with my XTi I only use 2gb cards, I just have more of them.
