I just have to get this off my chest.. I see it all too often on this forum.

there = in, at, or to that place or
their = belonging to or associated with the people or things previously mentioned or easily
they're = they are
your = belonging to or associated with the person or people that the speaker is addressing
you're = you are

Oh.. and ESP on the Wedding forum..

Altar is spelled Altar. Not Alter.
Alter is to change something, it is not the table at the front.

Enjoy! I only say this because I care :( People think you are less intelligent when you cannot spell correctly. Oh yeah, cannot is one word, not two.

Given that a lot of people are posting in what may be their second or third language they don't do so bad.

Let us see you redo your post in either, French, German, Dutch, Norwegian. Japanese or any language other than your natural one and we will mark it out of 10 :-)

I can respect that opinion - I work in an environment where the majority speak French or Flemish but the "corporate language" is English. However, I think that you miss the point here somewhat. Most of the errors mentioned by the OP are made by people from the US and the UK and in that, I agree with his frustration.

I'd also like to add one of my own. That long bit on the front of your camera with all the glass in it is called a lens not a lense. :evil:

Well that is certainly not true for Americans, what they do to English will make you cry. (Before our American cousins all start shouting at me I shall say two letters G.W ) :-)

Also true - most would shame some of the people currently churned out by our so called "education system" in the UK. In Belgium, being tri-lingual is what you need to be to get a decent job. In the UK or US it IS a job.

I actually don't care much about the opinions of people who chose to judge us based on our typing skills.

Nor do I tend to judge people based on their IQ or SAT scores, or the cleanliness of there car, how many dishes are in they're sink, or other such trivialities.
