I haven't done this too much, but I have to this month.
I get the EOS Magazine, published in the UK for EOS users and blessed by CANON itself and Digital Photo Pro, also published in the UK for semi-pro to pro digital photographers.
EOS Magazine has improved significantly, not just selling the Canon products, but explaining why certain features are developed and how to use the features no manual will explain fully. This issue published for Jan-March 08 has articles about the future of Live View and EF-S lenses. There is a useful article about using the built-in flash, for most amateurs, this is a must have read. The editorial is on the future of pixel count and Canon is set to develop higher resolution cameras. And in the back is an article on work flow that is basically for people who are unsure about the time savings in PP. The writers don't excuse Canon for the firmware problems, just try to help consumers fix and update.
Digital Photo Pro writers and photographers like Canons and not necessarily the newest and most expensive. The January/February 2008 issue is full of reviews of the best of the best to the newest and least expensive DSLR's and only positive things to say, which is a change. I also enjoy their marketplace pages talking about the newest gadgets and helps for our work.
So, congrats to two good magazines, though not perfect, are keepers and I do keep the EOS Magazine. It has information the manual will never include.
Happy 2008 to Canon and here's to many more fun reads and adventures.
