Certainly nailed the moment but my mind wants to see more. IMO, it just feels too tight as the smoke has nowhere to go. I'm guessing the shooters face is nicely lit too by the powder flash.

thanks. I was looking to really get in on the striker.

I am going to try to catch the light reflecting more from his face though, I want to see that shot now people have brought it up.

not really sure, I took some more shots after this one and adjusted as light changed. I'm still in the experiment with setting phase.

Agree about the cropping being too tight. But the angle is very flat and centered.
I was at a renaissance faire and caught this at weapons demo while watching the demo.

I like the tight crop but would like to see a longer shot too, showing the concentration that must have been on the face of the shooter and the end of the barrel (for perspective). But hey, it's a great start!
