hey POTN,
today while shooting a wedding, i had the 70-200 2.8 L IS on my XTi along with a 580ex and battery grip.
the setup worked flawlessly for the first half, but all of a sudden after i shot with my camera, the back display would go black, and the camera would be unresponsive.
so naturally, i shut off the camera. and to my surprise, the green light, stayed on! at this point, im starting to panic.
to solve this, i had to take out the battery cartridge, and put it back in. this would reset my camera, but the exact same thing would happen the next shot.
what might be causing this? the problem seemed to fix itself when i switched out one of the batteries in the camera grip, but i do not want to draw conclusions that fast.
is the IS on the lens draining the battery pack faster than if i used a non-IS lens? i just cant explain why the power indicator light stayed on even when i switched my camera off...
i dont think anybody has experienced this before, but if i could get some input before i have to go shoot again tomorrow, i would greatly appreciate it!
thanks
eric
