Hey all
well I made some enquiries with Ray (MDoc) about a week or two ago asking where I could get a decent shot of the Great Horned Owl and he shared with me the location of a nesting pair.
I headed out there today and I was surprised to see Fog on the Island, So I thought it was going to be a wasted day.
these were some of the captures I was able to get.
Thanks for looking and CC is welcomed

NIce series Allan. We had a pair that nested in an Ottawa wooded area for three years running but they disappeared last winter.

This was on Honeymoon Island, right? I shot this same bird there last year. And the camo IS amaZIng. You can look right at them, look away, and look back and can't find them again even though they haven't moved!

Great shots, Allen. The nice thing is that they are located not that far from your home allowing for more shots in the future.

Canondslruser, Karen, Gary,EZrider, Ira, Trevor and Dennis
I greatly appreciate you all taking the time to look and comment on my pics
I wish I was able to get closer without upsetting the birds
maybe I'll aquire a 1.4X TC in the not too distant future, trouble with that though is I'll loose 1 stop of light and the AF so I'll end up using my Tripod I'm sure.
but that will come another day.
Karen, you're absolutely right about their camo. yes these were shot on Honeymoon island.
Ray (Mdoc) gave me directions to where they are on the Osprey trail (Main trail) I was also looking out for some Baldies too, but no luck with them.
Plenty of Ospreys though.
I lost this guy a few times looking through the viewfinder I only spotted it again due to the big white "T" it had on it's chest, very amazing camo.

It was kind of funny watching people go by, as they were looking up into the tree where I was shooting, asking what is up there, it wasn't until I pointed out the owl, that they stopped to look in awe.
I'm definitely going to go back out there soon.
