Live View should not automatically start when you turn the camera on. Never did, never will - unless the camera is faulty.

apersson850 Obviously it's a good thing  More info | So does Canon's manual. But if you have a lens with full time manual focus (most USM lenses), you don't need to. Even if you do focus manually. Anders
