I just got my new westcott apollo softbox and monfrotto avenger lightstand. I am having a great deal of trouble figuring out how the softbox attaches to my stand. I am using a Canon 550EX flash and I also have the monfrotto swivel umbrella adapter for the lightstand.
Could someone take a picture of their setup if they have something similar so I can know how it is suppose to go together please?
Any help I will greatly appreciate
Thank You

can you post a picture of what you have? maybe then others that do not own the same thing can help you out. My soft box connects to the strobe via a speedring, not the stand.

What's the exact model of the softbox you have? Is it the 16x16 mini? If so, did you also get the universal bracket?

I'm guessing your problem is that your umbrella bracket doesn't have a cold shoe like this one does for the flash: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …117_Umbrella_Bracket.html (external link)

As for mounting the softbox itself onto the umbrella bracket, just push the rod of the softbox through the hole in the umbrella bracket.

@Eos me. This softbox is the 28" Westcott apollo. You can find it at BHphoto.com.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …lo_Mono_Softbox_with.html (external link). It runs about $131.00.

I've recently purchases a 46" photek softliter II. It runs $60.00 at Bhphoto. It's also a very get softbox type umbrella (but round) and very inexpensive.

They have other sizes as well reasonably priced.

These boxes are made to be used with all types of hotshoe flashes.
