Does anyone know of a decent lower cost alternative to one of these?

I'm looking for a handheld type softbox to use with my 580EX II. Overall I have a pretty simple setup which works pretty well for me, a 420EX bouncing from an umbrella as my key light and 580EX II on my hot shoe for fill. I'd like to improve this a bit by moving the 580EX II off camera with a softbox to improve the light and produce larger catch-lights.

Try this one:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ini_Apollo_Flash_Kit.html (external link).

It's $50.00 less and it has all the mounting brackets you need.

A cheaper alternative would be this one but you may have to buy additional items for mounting.

Thanks troymm

The Alzo one looks pretty similar to the Ezybox, right down to the bracket details.

There's this blog that I visit and this is the same soft box that's used for her shots.

Check out the blog for pic examples and her setup. (external link)

What I like about the Ezybox is they have a handle so that you can just hand-hold it with the flash instead of needing to mount it on a light-stand. I think this would be difficult to do with anything larger than 15"x15".

I don't know about other similar products and I do think the EZ Box is a bit pricey, but they are great devices and super convenient.
