roti83 Hatchling 2 posts Joined Dec 2007 More info | Dec 30, 2007 22:41 | #1 I am unable to download directly using USB cable, camera to PC with my A720IS. PC O/S is Windows XP Service Pk 2. USB cable and port are ok. When camera connected message on monitor "Device not recognized". Canon does not provide a driver but in camera manual say a driver is not required when using XP. Has anyone else had this problem and have a solution. Yes, I have a card reader that works but want to download direct. Thanks.

Dec 30, 2007 23:42 | #3 Thanks for your help. The problem was with the front USB ports. When pluged into the rear USB ports the PC recognized the camera and I am on my way!! Interestingly the PC will recognize my Olympus from the front ports.
