For Wedding prints... I use WHCC. I use CPQ for group and league work. Both are first rate in terms of print quality.

The studio I work for has used CPQ for several years. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend them. We've had nothing but problems especially in the last year. I would imagine if you shoot digital its not that bad, because our digital stuff has come back fine.

BUT...the Marjory of our portraits are shot with medium format film on the beach. We use the ROES system and for small prints we send the digital files...for anything over 11x14 we send the negative back, carded.

Its so bad that we even include a guide print WITH THE CROP WE WANT and they continue to send stuff back with the wrong crop and problems.

I've heard nothing but great things about WHCC

WHCC - for just about everything. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! They're fast, they drop ship, if needed, and the paper is awesome. I've even been hearing amazing reviews about their press printed books and I might try them for engagment/guest books.

I have had only one experience from CPQ. I did start a new account with $50 free. FYI for thoughs of you thinking of trying. Its $50 for one order, so if you are like me and order $25 the first time...you get $25 free, not $50.

Also, they will use lab controlled as a default unless you specify Studio Control. My first print came to me way over sharpened by them.

I am about order business cards from them(best price compared to Millers). The ordering process seems confusing to me. I can't tell if I am setting up a 2 sided print or not. Any help from anyone with experience would be great.

I've been with WHCC for years. Outstand service, prices, and print quality. Oh, and to top it off.... you get free 2-day delivery....and there's a piece of candy included with every order. :)

Since this thread had come up again, I thought I'd add some more input.

We've had consistent problems with CPQ. All of our proofs have come back with yellow streaking in the sky, and just overall yucky looks to them. We've sent the same files off twice (once studio control and once lab control) and they both came back the same.

I would say at thing point about 80% of our reprint orders are being sent back to have redone for back lacquer jobs, poor printing, or incorrect crops.

The folks at CPQ are really nice, and their online viewing/ordering system is great - but I haven't been happy with what we've been getting. That being said, I don't own the business so I don't make the calls...lol.

We have since opened an account with WHCC and while I like their color MUCH better than CPQ - I was not impressed by how their images were not tack sharp. We sent the same files to CPQ and WHCC, and the WHCC print came back unsharp - as well as every set of proofs we had them print. After asking other photographers, they all said the same thing about the sharpness.

I would vote for Millers, as I've had nothing but great experiences using Mpix.

I haven't used them very much but my experience with whcc has been great. Their customer service seems to be top notch as well.

I did the same thing. Got $50 of worthless prints. Blown highlights, color off just a mess. I called about redoing the order and explained what happened and they said to ship them back and they would consider it........I declined and stuck with WHCC. Great customer service and spot on prints
