Finally pulled the trigger and ordered the 100-400mmL:D
Now the waiting game begins. Guess there really isn't much to shoot outside currently since the snow if falling and it is quite dark and overcast anyway. Hopefully a sunny day in the future when that lens arrives!!!

Congratulations. But, Murphy's LAw says there will be no sunshine if you go out with a new lens.

Thanks and are you talking from experience? You have quite the list of lenses, how many had the no sunshine arrival?

Great purchase. I presume you're upgrading your Sigma: I did the same thing 6 months ago and haven't regretted it. Hope you enjoy it!

I sure am! The sigma will be retired once the canon L comes in. It was a good starter lens but it is time for a larger lens.
Glad to hear that you are loving your lens---

Gratz on that great new lens.

Only 12 more days for the instant rebates. I still on the fence. I'm gonna buy this lens in 2008. So its buy it now and save $100 bucks or wait til the snow melts (3 months maybe).

Usage has gone down for me but I will not part with it. When I need reach, this lens comes through every time. It's going with me to the grave.

Congratulations on the new lens. I agree with gasrocks, by the way. Whenever you get a new lens, you inevitably have bad weather for at least a week. ;)

I love mine. When i got it this past summer it rained everytime I wanted to go out. And when I couldn't make it out the weather was perfect. I'm sure you'll like the 100-400. Happy shooting.

Thanks for all the good wishes and happy stories. Just need to be patient and wait and hope for the weather to clear up here in the northeast---

Mine is on the truck for delivery today. I just took the Christmas tree outside and D*** is it cold and windy out there. I am either going to freeze or have to wait. I don't like either option :)
