Great set of shots.

Looks like you were pretty close to the Lapwing - how far away were you then? Has the last shot of the Lapwing been cropped at all - just to get a feel for how close you were. The more local places that I go to, I am just unable to get that close to them which is a great shame.

Thanks for the comments Linda - for both the lapwings shots I was fairly close, the flyer is almost full frame and the static bird is only a slight crop for composition. I would guess in both cases I was around 10-15 yards.

Thanks for the info Roy - lucky you, being able to get so close. I think Lapwings are such gorgeous birds, wish I could get closer lol. I had better try and find some locations where thats possible, but I think I will have to go further afield.
