Ok, currently I have the following:

1 Quantray 9500-QTB(ettl2 flash)
3 Vivitar 285HV
1 Speedotron 102
1 Speedotron 202vf

I think that a good inventory for lights would be the following

2 Canon 580exII
4 Vivitar 285HV
2 Quantum QFlash T(x) models
3 Speedotron 102
3 Speedotron 202vf

What do you think about that for a versital light inventory?

Plus the power packs for them

I have the following

1 Quantum QB1
3 Quantum QB1+
1 Speedoton 104

I would like the following:

the 4 Quantum QB1(+)
the 104 and one each of the next two models up I thinmnk it a 2)8 and a 120x
2 Quantum Turbo
2 Quantum Turbo 2x2

I think that would give me the right power pacs to light all the above. The reason for the next two models opf Speedotron pacs is exspansion and backup get the 208 and then the next one up as funds become available for it.

Tell me your opinions on this.

Without knowing what you will be shooting and under what conditions nobody can give you any sort of intelligent feedback. That said, I'm sure you will still get plenty of advice and opinions shortly ;)

I mainly do sports photography but I am unable to use artificial lighting because of the horses and I do not wish to take a chance and cost a rider a chance to do their best because the horse reacted to a flash of light and I have never needed to use one at night to beable get a shot.

But I like to shoot portaits and other things also plus I am planning on doing more of the assigment type of shooting just for fun and experiance so I woukld like to have a good all round inventory of lights. Mainly the strobist type first then the speedotron additional lights.
