Well, Anouk already posted shots of the concert, so I'm a bit late to the party, but I think it'lll offer a nice comparison on different styles of shooting.

Also keeps me "sharp" to have someone shoot the same venue I do. Sometimes we get different shots, sometimes one sees something the other doesn't, sometimes I'm clearly outperformed...

These images are oversharpened; I still need to look into the sharpening, and turn down Manyk a bit...

All images can be seen here (external link).

So, let's cut the smalltalk, and get on with some images:

#1: Baebe:

#2:
IMAGE: http://www.moonglade.net/rene/071201MBae/content/bin/images/large/rhd_20071201_MedBae_0034.jpg

#3: Whole group:
IMAGE: http://www.moonglade.net/rene/071201MBae/content/bin/images/large/rhd_20071201_MedBae_0045.jpg

#4: Another Baebe:
IMAGE: http://www.moonglade.net/rene/071201MBae/content/bin/images/large/rhd_20071201_MedBae_0059.jpg

#5: Hands in the air:
IMAGE: http://www.moonglade.net/rene/071201MBae/content/bin/images/large/rhd_20071201_MedBae_0118.jpg

#6: I like the 'look':
IMAGE: http://www.moonglade.net/rene/071201MBae/content/bin/images/large/rhd_20071201_MedBae_0132.jpg

#7: Bit of 'panning' on my part. Maybe I shouldn't have:
IMAGE: http://www.moonglade.net/rene/071201MBae/content/bin/images/large/rhd_20071201_MedBae_0138.jpg

#8: Lots of cameras frontstage:
IMAGE: http://www.moonglade.net/rene/071201MBae/content/bin/images/large/rhd_20071201_MedBae_0164.jpg

Not too bad, but it does show that a long lens is no substitute for getting closer.
Glad that I was only '2nd shooter' that night...

Okay, you already know what I think about the pics ;)

(#6,) #7 and #8 maybe a little bit (just a little bit) dark. Too bad #7 isn't all sharp.

#8 nice angle, same goes for a few more @ rest of your pics from upper side of the stage.

#4 may need some more blacks, #3 really nice but maybe a little bit too light at the background.

I know you aren't really satisfied with this pics, but still: nice photos.

Which one are you?

Lovely images though, René. I think I might be booking tickets to these comely lasses in January. :D

See this topic, I was the only female photographer that night, the girl on the left standing on the table taking pictures ;)

i guess i missed this thread. i love the lighting for this set, esp as captured in 3. 4 would be real nice if the background wasn't so bright. 6 is well done also; it seems like they are full of "looks". lots of people in the shots which takes a bit away when they are not contributing to the image.

#4 is definitely my favorite. Didn't care for #7 though. Good shots all around.

Well, I think An should take Anke's nom-de-plume ... "That Rump Shot is Just Adorable!" Still wondering why you Dutch are so shy?

[Edit: I just saw Renee's visage and now understand why he hides behind beautiful redheads!]

Number 7 is a nice shot of them and crowd interaction.
Perspective gives good depth.
Rim light on photogs in front.
A lot of photogs!

rené, good shots, but i'd agree that anouk captured the moments a bit better. very nice to see a different perspective and PP from the same show, though. i think some of these shots suffered from too much audience in the foreground

Yep. I should have moved around and through the audience more...
Then again, Anouk was working that night for Atak, I was having fun, so I didn't want to be too much of a hindrance for the paying audience. There was quite enough of that already ;)

I did have quite a few images with motion blur, partly because the use of long lenses, partly because not paying enough attention :p

See, I told you Anouks shots were better ;)

well there you go anouk. you're not going to find a better complement that that. i think it's pretty much accepted that rené is one of the best around here.

I really like #4.

Very good capture. Doesn't need more black for me.
