There is a big noticable between the two. If you can swing it, I'd recommend both to.

I own three lenses. The 24L, 35L and 85L and two 5Ds. Its all I need.

I own ten lenses, I think, and I need about 20 more. Maybe then I can take a halfway decent picture. ;)

Ok, kidding aside, I just got the 35L for christmas. I LOVE it. Oh, did I say I LOVE it? What an awesome focal length on a FF. What an sharp lens. Beautifully built also.

I've also got the 85L which unfortunately I don't use that often.

The 14L on my FF is in another class altogether. I won't even go into that now. I posted on that a while back.

I still consider the 50L f1.2, but after speaking to Ronald S. Jr., who I consider an authority, he recommended the 35L as he thought the 50 was just too close to the 85. I'm glad I took his advice.

Why do I say all that? Simple. I for some reason do not desire the 24L. Seems to close to the 35, at least IMO.

I love that soda machine. tha is so cool, as is the fan, the thermometer. Great antiques.

There's a store in Manhattan that sells nothing but Macs called Tekserve. They've got a working machine exactly like it and they sell the soda bottles for ten cents.

Thanks for posting.

airfrogusmc, thanks for posting those!

even on a 5D, there does seem to be a good diff between the two FOV. i was looking through my 17-55 at 24mm and 35mm and theres quite a diff as well.

Hoaving these two lenses is like having the 50mm and 85mm. There's just too close in focal length

ROFL, I use both 50mm and 85mm lenses regularly.

Yeah I'm with you Riff Raff- 50 and 85 are probably my most used lenses!

@airfro'- you sold me on the 24- it's right at the edge of causing that wide angle distortion I like but doesnt' go overboard like a quasi-fisheye 16mm-17mm. Now, just have to find $1100 laying around...

EF 24mm f1.4L is my walk around lens. Everywhere I go, I use EF 24mm f1.4L

The bokeh is really my cup of tea and I love its low weight and excellant build as well.

EF 35mm f1.4L is good but I feel that 24mm is more my focal length.

In the recent trip I have hiking around Grampians in Voctoria Oz, I only took this lens with me along 135/2

f2.0

Some people criticise the corners of 24/1.4 soft. I think stopping down to f8 is quite sharp. The bokeh is really good with 24/1.4 though
