This morning, the Firewire drive failed to spin up for no good reason. Incidentally, I was using the same physical hard disk in the external Firewire case, and I moved it over to the new system, and no problems there. I've already swept the disk with my usual battery of diagnostics, nothing is wrong with the disk itself.

Today it is not cumbersome unless you choose to build your own NAS. I have mentioned it before I have 2 Buffalo LinkStation's that work perfectly.
