Looks like all the suspense killed the thread.

It could have been taken in upstate NY...except the distances are slightly off as are the directions on a couple.;)

Close... North Central Maine.

Somebody had a real sense of humor and a whole bunch of towns are named after nations in Europe and other places. My in-laws actually lived in Mexico, Maine for a time.

I need an opinion on something....remember how I told you the photographer had my camera during the kid's wedding (the ceremony part)? Well, after they were pronounced husband and wife they took a photo of themselves with a P&S (it didn't turn out....sadly but it was such a funny thing for a bride and groom to do) and the photog took a photo of them doing it...it didn't turn out...blurry (I don't think she used the * button to focus...I told her about it but hardly any shots of the ceremony are in focus)...but because we're a photography family I've tried to do my best to salvage that shot. I've turned it into a painting like thing with textures and ect to soften the look...does this work at all? (I couldn't figure out any other way to save it)

Looks good, Lisa. Didn't photoshop used to have some kind of de-blur filter (kind of the reverse of motion blur)?

I usually find that a nice BW conversion covers up for a badly taken photo. But then again a) you don't tend to take bad shots and b) you're a great deal better at PP than I.

thanks Pete, I take bad shots all the time (and use that B&W trick too  heeee). Frankly I'd feel better if I screwed up all the ceremony shots than I do that I didn't have the camera or opportunity to take them myself...but at the time, I just handed her the camera without questioning the wisdom of it...I was rather stressed

oh and PE doesn't have that option...at least PE4 (not that i know of anyway)

My vote goes to the original....mixed with your edit....split the difference and you might have something...the other option is to use the watercolor feature...and don't try to sharpen it so much....they know who they are.;)

I didn't sharpen it (there isn't anything to sharpen ) but I did use a lot of contrast to boost definition. I'll try the watercolor thing

Permie...I'm sure that any other processing will do wonders for the mistake of the photog on this shot. But I have to ask though....was she picking her nose behind the camera when she was looking through the viewfinder?? Really...she must have needed a smoke break or something to have the jitters that bad. Unless, she realized that she was taking pictures for a photog family and felt very self conscious of herself....you intimidated her didn't you?
