I don't see a line of people begging you to quit Lisa...sheeeeeeeeeeesh...we aren't apt to complain about nice shots here. I figured you would try the TCs on the 300 just to see how it responded....You could have had a 600 f/5.6 IS....

STOP posting photos shot with the 300 f/2.8 (or the 600) I can't afford those lenses.........

just kidding

Umm.. gonna take awhile to perfect my skill :-D

The 24-70 is not a real good sports lens...focuses way too slow...the 85 f/1.8 is the killer for B-Ball...

lol...I can't afford it either but I'm going to. After today, it's on my "to buy next" list. I cannot believe the quality/crispness of this lens.

Believe me, Tommy, I know!

I told Dan & Lisa today that my biggest worry today was that I'd never want to go back to the 100-400.

Permagrin wrote in post #4734464 (external link)
not today but I was thinking...

Chris, if you want to set it up with the 2x and put it on the M3 so that it will AF, tomorrow, you can.

Cool! But won't it AF on the 40D. It's an f/4 lens...won't it go to f/8 with the 2xtc? I can never remember.

Just to confirm what the Chief already knows...the 600 is a great training lens.

It did quite well - but so did the 85... the 70-200 is too heavy for indoor sports (no monopod due to the movement of the game)

No. We didn't try it.

Will the sigma 2xtc work on it? That's the only one I have (the 1.4 is the Canon)

Oh, and speaking of Sigma, I mentioned to you all that I've questioned Sigma, gently, but firmly about the Bigma repair. Tonight I got an email that they're going to fix it for free!!:lol::lol:

That is great news...and yes...the Siggy 2x will work on there...if you are in real good light...you might even get it to autofocus with the 40D....even though it is f/8...the 1.4x should AF no problem...since that will be f/5.6.

one more then, to fly me off to sleep...

This is one of the hawks that Chris got such a good portrait shot of. I was too far away with the 300 to get him before he flew, but I liked the light in this.
