I have found that AWB on the MarkIIn is insanely accurate! Really cool!

Nice job Scott...they came out pretty good...you can see the strobes fired in a couple of the men's shots.

AWB works far better than most people give it credit for....

I used strobes in all those shots I posted... I tried without strobes, but I had to be at ISO1600... all of these were at ISO640.

Now, either I need to pump the power up on my strobes, or get them closer - I was still at f/2.8-f4 the entire time... no - I want some more DOF! I also think my exposures were a bit off because of that. (needing 1/250 for stopping motion blur, but being limited to f/2.8)

I learned a lot about the flash - it was fun.
This was my setup:

I am thinking instead of having both strobes on the same side - maybe having one on each side of the court, at the end of the court that our team in playing - that way the light isn't so directional.

Very interesting, Scott. Would you move the strobes at half time then?

Probably need 4 units for even lighting.

Yup - something I didn't know... they play two halves... not four quarters (like NBA and high school) --- I had a really puzzeled look on my face when half time started... I was like "Shouldn't they play once more before half time?" --

nope!

Scott, it was all the 300 only today. No tc.

Chris, cool on the puddle shot. May I have a copy?

and guys, I know I've posted a lot...but this is a crop of the big fight shot...I LOVE it and wanted to show you. Then I'll quit.

QUOTED IMAGE

This first photo of the fight is really a good catch. A lot of things have to come together to make a shot like this happen, especially skill. Congratulations!

Chris, you were right about that being a setting on the M3. I came home and found that they'd reset it. Which was weird since they only reset a few things on it at the factory.

WOW...and that crop is amazing! WOW
