Short moo

We're just out the door to check out a reception venue. Just got a pack through from the photog we're thinking of using. A bewildering array of options to choose from and a slide show on a DVD that just wowed us.

We'll be talking to him soon, I think.

Hey - he forgot the camera!

Great shots there, folks! Did Puddle do anything besides fondle the lens and guard his wallet?

AWB works far better than most people give it credit for....

I think a lot of people don't realize that AWB stops at 3000K, so most tungsten looks off. Chuck Westfall says it's documented in all the manuals and if you're in most household lighting (which is 2700-2900K) you're better off using the K setting.

I think I just got threatened!

Tungsten lighting is a whole different bag of worms. I agree completely about shifting to K...the results are going to be far more consistent.

Thanks. It's hard to image that 46 years ago, I was a relatively happy, carefree single man. By the end of the day, things were very different.

I am now a die-hard marraige junkie.

OK, decision making time for off-camera flash.

I am planning on buying a Vivitar 285HV, because I want the thyristor capability - useful on my vintage cameras and my Holga. (I am so absolutely NOT coughing up for the 580EX Mk2!)

I can also buy one of those famous Cactus radio triggers. Should I just buy one or should I spend approximately $35 more per pair and buy 2 so I can fire my 430EX and Vivitar simultaneously? As in, two flash setup...

I am so used to working with only one off-camera flash (430EX/ST-E2) that I don't quite feel the need for a second one.. hmm.

You are probably the only one that can answer that question. If you have the urge to do some two flash work...then what the heck?
