OMG I can NOT believe you posted that!! ACK! Yes and COLD! I'm wearing 4 layers of clothes!!!

I'm dealing with a uber slow computer tonight... having to deal with an almost full hard drive before I can deal with photoshop.... ARGH!

Since I didn't take any self-portraits...you were the only human to make a photo....should have taken a shot of the rangers....hehehe

Lisa, I think those are stellar given the circumstances we were shooting in.

He might have cuffed me... but you were the bad guy... the only one they wanted to ID... perhaps they were worried about me.... We should've made snide comments about shooting things.... :p Next time... I'll get you on camera....

It sort of looks like the lighting in west Oregon was similar to what we had in eastern OR....those look pretty darn good for crappy light and ISO 6400 with a 2x TC.

I'm not going to keep any of the shots from today but I think that if it gives this sort of results (Dan just looked at my shots...they are all very acceptable) with a 2x tc & horrid high iso, it's just an amazing lens.

I couldn't believe how well they turned out for such horrid settings!

it was bad today. Rainy, drizzly...over cast...bleah. You are right, the 300 2.8 is magic.

Seriously, in good light I bet it would produce similar results to the 600. And for just above half the price.

I'm almost embarrassed to post my boid shot from today...I had the camera set for shooting waterfalls when this guy came along.

I'm jealous! I have no good (non-captivity) owl shots. This is very cool!

Yeah it would've been... I would've probably been hot! :p But my four layers... super warm sweatshirt... and boots did the trick... I actually was surprised how warm I managed to stay today!

Hey if I had that coat... and we ended up going off in that ravine way up in the mountains looking for the never found fire tower.... I would have been able to get some attention AND stay warm!!!! But oh yes... right fork... fire tower.... left fork takes ya back to Hot Springs... Whatever!

Well...the OIF shots were a disaster....I had the 1Ds with a 70-200 as the only long lens when we encountered the owl...I was glad I got what I did.
