Yeah it would've been... I would've probably been hot! :p But my four layers... super warm sweatshirt... and boots did the trick... I actually was surprised how warm I managed to stay today!

Hey if I had that coat... and we ended up going off in that ravine way up in the mountains looking for the never found fire tower.... I would have been able to get some attention AND stay warm!!!! But oh yes... right fork... fire tower.... left fork takes ya back to Hot Springs... Whatever!

Never take directions from Park Rangers...they have no clue where they really are.

Hello Jennifer, it's nice to put a face on the name :)

Hi Lisa!

I couldn't believe how well they turned out for such horrid settings!

They look amazing!

it was bad today. Rainy, drizzly...over cast...bleah. You are right, the 300 2.8 is magic.

Seriously, in good light I bet it would produce similar results to the 600. And for just above half the price.

We had it pretty bad too... snow... way overcast and very dull... I'm still glad we went tho! While I didn't get a shot of the owl worth a flip, I was totally THRILLED just to SEE it in person and get as close as we did!!

I'm jealous! I have no good (non-captivity) owl shots. This is very cool!

VERY COOL!

Well, I shot a bunch with the 400 today, high ISO (usually around 1600), but I did all I could to keep the shutter speed as high as possible, and, happily enough, the 400 did just fine. Sure, it's noisy, but really, not too bad. All is right in the lens universe again.

Ya know when we came back down to where they were.... they were not there with the other Rangers.... suspect that perhaps they were beginning a search party to go out and look for the two that were lost.... :rolleyes:Goobers :p

Hey PermaPuddle, if you want yesterday's shots to look even better (not that they need any help), just look at today's shots then go back to yesterday.

Miraculous!
