Examples....
40D, ISO 1600, 1/1000, f/5.6, no processing
100%-ish crop:
Thoughts?

Very impressive - that 400 is a good lens... I just wish someone would buy mine...

Tomorrows weather doesn't look too much better than todays... I am not sure if I am up for Ridgefield...

Depends. Most of mine have a brass ferrule that you anchor whatever to via a set-screw. It's around 5/8" dia., but not threaded. A couple of them have a 1/4-20 threaded bit on top. I just pick up some adjustable umbrella brackets; mine came with ht shoe adapters as well.!

I stopped at Samy's Cameras in Pasadena today, and they had them. There are pretty much as you describe with the brass ferrule, etc.. Clearly they're designed to be versatile enough to hand a variety of equipment combinations. I also picked up a couple umbrellas. I had a choice of white or silver, so I went with silver. A nice plaid would have been great, but the only other color they had was gold, and that just seemed all wrong.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Hey PermaPuddle, if you want yesterday's shots to look even better (not that they need any help), just look at today's shots then go back to yesterday.

Miraculous!

yeah, I was doing that!
