That is a good lens... the AF is a bit slow, but still nice :-D

Yeah, slow if you have to travel the whole length but nice if you are in the ball park.

Back to your amazing photography, just had to share briefly my other very expensive hobby.... scrapbooking!

I really need to take a few pictures of some of my wife's pages. I'm very grateful she's a scrapbooker -- it gives me an excuse to shoot more! :D

Cool idea on the OOF lights. I actually played around with some shots like that this year, too. I had no idea what I was going to do with the shots when I was done, but it just seemed like a good thing to do.

Forgot to comment on everybody's shots.

Looks like it was a very productive day for the Tupperwarians. Greg, Mike, Wool, TD, Permie, Cap'n -- did I miss anybody? -- all put up some great stuff. The only camera I had with me today was on my phone. . .

I was the same way when I did my shot of OOF tree lights... When I put lights on my tree each year that's how I tell if I've got good light coverage.... either take off my glasses and look at it or take an OOF shot of it! :p I am very particular about light coverage on my tree!

And yes you do need to capture her pages! I capture all of mine... ok I scan mine in 4 parts and stitch them together... I haven't mastered taking a picture of them... and I haven't tried to take a picture of them in ages either! :p

I love scrapbooking... and I purposely take some odd shots just because I know how I can scrapbook them... and that's exactly what I did with the tree lights... I knew I wanted to use them on a layout! Didn't know how, but knew it would be cool!

Monday there is a clerk in a store heree in Denmark that are going to wish he/she did not goto work monday. I am mad as hell.

Yesterday my sister and her husband held their birthday party. He was 50 years so it was a big party with lots of guests. About 2 weeks ago I bought their presents. I have been really busy this months so when I was able to buy all the presents in the same store I was pleased. And even more pleased that they gift wrapped all of them.

Well. Yesterday night when the presents was unwrapped it turned out that one of the gift had an EMPTY box. Wtf.... The clerk did not check that there was something in the box before wrapping them. That store better give me a new box with contents without a word or hell breaks loose. One thing is for sure I will never ever buy anything in that chain of stores anymore. :mad:

now how do yo know that the item wasn't in the box when you brought it and that the moment when the present was opened the universe had taken it out so no one would see it.

meaning if you didn't know it was there, you never saw it there, doesn't mean it wasn't there. the universe does work in misterous ways.

ok yes that is a load of crap :)

Just out of interest didn't you notice that the box was rather light?

anyway good luck in getting the item. I hope they play nice :)

Ouch! Sorry to hear that.

At Christmas, we received a package shipped from a major department store. Inside were four packages -- one for each of my three sons, plus one for my nephew. No idea why my nephew's present was included -- taped to the top of his gift was his home address along with mailing instructions to send three to our house, and one to my brother's. To top it off, my oldest son's name was wrong. Not a spelling mistake, a completely wrong name. We knew the gift was correct, as all three boys had received the same item -- but where the name came from we have no idea.

The box itself is actually rather heavy so I never thought that it might be empty.

Oh my god. It is shocking how poor the youth today are at simple math.

I was just down buying newspapers among other things and the total ended at 51 DKK. So I gave the clerk which was a young girl probably 16 or 17 years old 100 DKK. Then I checked my coins and said I had 1 DKK. At that time she had punched it in on the register and the register said I should have 49 DKK back. She was unable to add 1 DKK to 49 DKK. She asked me how much it was

Thoughts?

Yeah - you need to send that back to Canon.

As an example of how a lens should work.

I stopped at Samy's Cameras in Pasadena today, and they had them. There are pretty much as you describe with the brass ferrule, etc.. Clearly they're designed to be versatile enough to hand a variety of equipment combinations. I also picked up a couple umbrellas. I had a choice of white or silver, so I went with silver. A nice plaid would have been great, but the only other color they had was gold, and that just seemed all wrong.

Gives a nice warming colour - good if you're shooting mixed flash & hot lights, say.

The B&Ws were taken with my film SLR Rebel :) This is my youngest son... He's not so little anymore!

Here is my older son... again He's not so little any more. Again these shots were taken with my film Rebel.

Last layout...

I took all these with my film rebel too... but underneath the title "Decorating" was the cool ones... I took purposefully OOF shots of my tree (it's how it looks to me when I take my glasses off LOL) And turned them on their side and used the OOF shots as the background to my title!

Back to your amazing photography, just had to share briefly my other very expensive hobby.... scrapbooking!

Anyone seen the Pigeon QQueen recently? Between these and the boids, she'd be in her element . . .

Could see what you were after, but without the crop, I couldn't recognize it. They look a bit different in Eastern Oregon. And I was expecting it to be of the overall weekend theme.
