lol...there IS a lot of meany headedness going on here! And Dan just called to say that he's having to work late because he's snowing his assistant in.

Is this part of Dan's discipline procedure?

gosh you guys are terrible!

Jennifer congrats on your backpack.

I think I may keep this tamrac and sell the bilingham rucksack. Not sure yet. I'm inordinately fond of the billingham but it doesn't hold everything...so I have 3 bags to haul sometimes. With the tamrac, I could pare it down to two except in lighting shoot situations.

I'm with Jon on the bag stakes. My Domke holds everything I need comfortably. If it can't fit in the bag, I'm taking too much...

the lens seems to be working great...IS sounds the same as it did on the rental and focus is smooth...no book though so I don't know what the controls are for...focus preset and the like...

I just had to share.... My grandmother passed April 2007... In her last days we had lots of long talks... We talked about her military service during WWII.... Here is what she did..

And then here's a shot of me this past October...

I think it's pretty cool that she was a photographer too...

I have to say that I was shocked seeing a picture of mom! And who might I ask to this picture of you?

Marcia, Mother to Jennifer Novice Photographer;)

that's so cool, she would have seen a lot and phtographed a lot during WW2.

She processed the first picture in the US of the Marines landing at Iwo Jima.

Welcome to tupperware Marcia :) There are a lot of us who have other family members around here. I think my mom visits occasionally...she's been a member here for over a year but never posted.

That is SO cool Maureen!!! My dad has scanned all my grandmother's photos! I've got so many! And now I've got stories to go with a good number of them!!! In addition to her WWII photos... the woman was a wild one... we have a ton of snapshots of her at 70+ years old skiing!!! She was a wild one! Lived an incredible life and I only hope that I can be half the woman she was!!!

She learned to ski at 73 after suffering a stroke and hemiplegia.
