Just a thought....my 300 and 400 use different tripod rings...I think the one from the 400 might be the one that fits other lenses....

Don't lie.

Queen Bailey bestowed both Puddle and me with that title at the same time!

Ha. I am at her house. She is at the dentist at the moment. When she gets back, I will make sure she comes and set it all straight for you T.D. (Coming in support of you of course :-D).

Go back and look. I'm confident the record will reflect my version of history.

The 300 non-IS and 400 use the same ring, as does the 70-200 f/4 (both).

I know. I that's what I thought.

Bailey just got back. She doesn't really remember, but she believes you are correct.

Moooorning all. Any baby photos yet, Wooly?

We are having the beginning of what is to be an incredible storm with 55mph winds and 2-3 inches of rain here and blizzrd conditions in the mountains.
Yosemite promised the roads would be kept cleared and open throughout, so we are heading up there this tomorrow morning.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

From Canon:http://www.usa.canon.com …delid=7345#ModelDetailAct (external link)

The tripod collar (sold separately) is the same one used with the EF 300mm f/4L USM.

Then I just found this (external link) which shows the IS also:

EF 300mm f/4L IS USM
EF 400mm f/5.6L USM
EF 70-200mm f/4L USM

Interesting. I know for a fact the 300 IS' doesn't fit. I think that is the same one as the 70-200 f\2.8 IS has. Oh well.
