I don't think your subject needs the skin smoothening. I personally like the more natural look (as long as the subject naturally has great skin as such) So I think you need to find someone with a more rough face then correct it. these are fine in the before. ;) BTW beautiful daughter, hope Dad has a shotgun near the door JK!

I like her natural look, too, but she of course, as is typical, thinks differently!! But thanks!!
Dad, indeed, has a shotgun by the door.... and so does her older brother. !!! LOL!!

I don't think she needs it either, but a tiny bit doesn't hurt. For something like a freckle, I knock them down about 60%. Same for an older persons wrinkles, or maybe 75% if I think that works.
I'd like to see her eyes sharp, though.

I re-did the photo. I adjusted the sharpness, removed just a little of the eye non-white part, and did the minimum of smoothing. What do you think?

When you say freckle, 60%, wrinkle 75%, -- are you on the healing tool? or the actual median, gaussian, noise tools? Thanks!!

I don't think she "needs" it, but as far as trying out the technique, i think you did fairly well on the first one, especially for a firt go at it. In the second pic, I prefer the before version.

Thanks-- THATS exactly what I was doing-- trying the technique!!
See the above post- that was an attempt at the technique, as well.
undergrad, it seems, has nice skin, just a little 'scoundrelly' looking!!!!:lol:

And for the most part, everyone is right, she DOESN'T NEED it, and the little blemishes were fixed with the healing and clone tool.
Which, in reality, is all that is needed.

Oh, to have 19 year old skin again!!!!!!!!! LOL~~~ :D

My skin definitely looks smoother.
I didn't choose the best picture for it though as it was quite dark to begin with.

The clone tool works well for freckles & wrinkles. I might use Healing for a shiny highlight on a nose, etc.
It's just a matter of personal preference, & I don't like to overdo the PP.

Yeah, that photo was a tad dark, but somehow, the details were still there, so its all good!!! I did not want you to have 'sissy' skin, and I like the scruffy look, so I went middle of the road. But yes, I agree. Its somewhat smoother!! As long as it maintians that manliness that everyone spoke of on another thread!!!
By the way-- I had to get rid of the propeller you chose to wear on your head that day. Was just overkill, I think!!!! LOL !
:D

Thanks, those are the tools I have used. Just wanted to check!!!! I am learning that, overdone PP DOES indeed look fake. not to mention silly!!:o:lol:

Thank you!!! I am sure I will get to the level of some more seasoned PP-ers, eventually!!! Practice makes perfect, right?! And yes, you are definately right- sometimes less IS more!!!!!! :D
