IS rules.......... but will it get 6.5fps?

Well, IS + 6.5fps will get you at least 1 shot that's OK (hopefully).

If it doesnt - just make a thread about how there's something wrong with the camera!

Well I had IS on so that I could take a good picture, but when shooting with one hand out the window while driving down a dirt road one evening, all my pictures turned out lousy. I'm especially mad that I didn't get any good shots of the deer in the road that caused me to swerve into a tree.

So, either my camera is lousy or my "IS" lens is a bunch of BS. I'm returning them both for a good G9 -- I hear they're great for those kind of things.

You must not have it set to the panning IS mode.

You got Lightruled!!!! RTM!!!

It specifically says not to use IS/OS in a moving vehicle (at least my 150-500 OS manual says that).

I'm glad you have all been so helpful!

But now the new G9 won't shoot at 6.5 fps -- do you think there's a firmware fix for that?

Yeah. An up-to-date catalog. The G9's not new - it's discontinued. G9 Production Rate not hitting 6.5 Bodies per Month.
