A little update on my 120-300. I've been in contact with someone up the food chain at Sigma USA and they had me send the lens back to them. They've had it for about 3 weeks again now. It seems they've been trying to source some parts, or possibly a replacement lens for me.

I emailed again on Thursday for an update and to request a loaner if the lens wouldn't be ready fairly soon. They've agreed to send me a 300 f/2.8 to use until they get something worked out with the 120-300.

I'm getting some great customer service now, I just wish it wasn't so much work to get there!

That is the basic treatment they've done for me over the years. Either get me the lens back ASAP, or get me a loaner. I think you'll like the prime as it's quite a bit smaller and lighter. Don't get your hopes up too high, but Sigma has been known to simply replace your lens with a new DG version in box. :D

But again, that unit could have problems too

Keep us posted.

I'm just going to be glad to have a good 300mm f/2.8. With as fast as it gets dark these days and as overcast as its been I've been having to crank up the ISO to get the shutter speeds with my 150-500!

I'll keep you updated and post some shots with that loaner. I just hope that whatever happens with the 120-300, the lens I get back is as sharp as the one I sent in! That thing was amazing, just not in the right place.

He's working a new poll, "Who is Your Favorite POTN Member?", and it's taken him this long to enter all 214,155 members? :p

He probably would do that if the forum allowed for polls that big. :D
