In a previous thread, I had asked about the water-resistance of the Tamrac series backpacks:

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=422264

Through experimentation, it was found that while most of the bag is rain-proof, the zippers and the back were weak points. While out in the field, your back will protect the backpack's back, but the zippers remained a problem. A rain cover would be the solution, but I had a hard time finding one to fit a bag as small as the Expedition 4.

But now I did!

The extra small (XS) Osprey rain cover fits PERFECTLY!

Just an FYI for others in the same boat as me.

Yes, but the smallest is still too large for the Exp 4, at least, according to Tamrac's site.

Check out the covers at Campmor's site--they have them from day packs to huge expedition packs. They cost about $10.00 for a day pack size--I used one of these on my pack on a week long off road motorcycle trip and it worked great. It rained every day and we stayed in tents. If I had camera stuff in that pack, it would have stayed dry--but I carried only a small P&S in a UW housing on that trip.

Rudy M.---Thanks to this site, I'm learning something new all the time!
