Although, this is not a rumor it is a quote. I'll post it here

Wifes Chinese, she said it says this about the 5D

We will promote the powerful product. The intermediate camera "EOS 5D" will be able to have enhanced durable and the picture element successor type goes on the market. In we will promote a better product with the equal in value position in.

Basically they will release a succesor to the 5D with more MP's, enhanced durability at the same pricepoint

Nothing new there then.

Don't be sorry. Everything else has been rumor mill. This is a Canon executive.

The 5D has dropped in price at B&H since Christmas - not a guarantee of a replacement, but it is encouraging. . .

Have Fun,

Anyplace we can get a verbatum translation?

Is your wife babelfish? The phrasing looks nonsensical.

Hey, I'm Chinese, too, and typed characters make no sense to me still. But then again, handwritten letters aren't much better. :)

Quotes are great, now let's see the new cam!

▽將採取何種數碼單反產品戰略?

  我們將推出強有力的產品。中級相機“EOS 5D”將會有提高了耐用性和像素的後繼機型上市。在同等價位上我們將推出更好的產品。

Here is a better translation:

(This is an interview with Canon CEO)

What will be the DSLR strategy?

We will introduce powerful products. The successor to the midrange "EOS 5D" will be introduced (no time frame was given but the article itself implied it is 2008 ) with better durability and higher MP count. For the same price, we will introduce better product.

Canon 1D Mk III/5D2, Sigma 50mm f/1.4, Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX, Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS, Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX, Canon 85/1.8, Canon 100/2.8 IS macro, Canon 135/2, Sigma 150-500 OS, Canon 500 f/4 IS
