Yes, I was not more than 20 feet away and a few feet above his position. The road went over a section of quickly moving water in which he was fishing. There were many other people around, and he did not seem at all bothered by our presence. In fact, he was so intently focused on the water that I'm not sure he noticed us at all. The water was so clear that I could see the fish he was after. He would stand completely motionless until one came within his range and then strike. Very neat to watch from so close.
