Pine Grosbeaks do not make it of this part of Maine very often - This winter is a exception - I have been hunting for them for a month and yesterday found a flock working the Crab apples on some old farm land on the edge of an industrial park in Saco (ME) - Waded thru knee plus deep snow to get close (it was 5 degrees F) - I am not complaining I am bragging!!! Bagged a bunch and here is one of the best. C/C always! 30D on 500f4 on BushHawk - gloves and warm boots! Bob

Well done Bob. You were rewarded for persevering the elements. I really like the composition with the bird isolated against the clean BG.

Fine post of a bird that one doesn't often see posted. Wow, that bird is really getting into it's meal. :D

Very nice image of the femle here and nice light with a very good BG for this species that I often see in very branchy environments.Very Nice
