lately i've been having problems with my wifi. it wont connect to the internet. if i disconnect the router, i can connect with just the modem. i dont know whats going on and i dont know what to look for:confused: i need your help. thanks!

i have a broadband connection, alltel. i dont know what model my modem is, they(alltel) priveded it. os is xp.

does this help? i'm trying to find the model of my modem but no luck. it just says speedstream on top of it.

i called my isp cs. basically they told me that since it really is not a problem with my connection but the router they can't help me.

Does your WiFi connection let you connect to the local network? Can you reach the router from your computer?

What model computer, wireless adapter in the computer, and router do you have?

Unplug the router and plug the modem directly into the computer. If it works it is the router. If it does not work call Alltel back.

Try to disconnect the router and the modem. Wait 30 seconds then connect the modem, wait a minute for it to connect...
Once it has connect the router. By doing that both the router and modem should of been reset.
If that doesn't work you may need to look firmware upgrades for your router.
