Hi all,

I recently purchase the 70-200 f2.8 L IS, and read that the f2.8 where the only one to be white in the 70-200 series, only the f4 are beige (according to what I red !)

This is not really important, my copy is very good, (that's the most important).
But you f2.8 or f2.8 IS can you please tell me if your is white or beige ?
My f2.8 IS has the same color as my 100-400.

Thanks in advance for your help ;)

Laurent.

There is no difference in color between the various models of the "white" lenses. Like Jason mentioned...they are all a loverly shade of sky blue pink.

They are all a beige/grey color. I was shocked as well because most photo's show them as white.

whoa you have ads for glass on TV in Canada? The most we have is maybe an ad in the newspaper in the technology section...actually not even that, in a photography magazine at most.

Yep, the f/4L IS looked a sexy white when I was planning to purchase it. In reality it is a cream/grey-ish colour.

I also notice the IS models have a darker beige color to it. It's not completely white.

You can see them on TV if you watch Football, Basketball, Baseball and most sports. You just have to look closely, sometimes you see one getting ran over.

I don't know what these guys are talking about. My 70-200 2.8 IS appears mint green.

To the best of my knowledge, Canon only uses one color (other than black) for their longer "L" lenses. It's the off-white color that you are seeing.

Of course, for many folks the dominant color of these lenses is red - the ring in the front ;).
