Diffusers?

The third one looks a bit softer, but if I was not told the diffusers were used, I would say they still look like bare flash.

That's pretty much my opinion, having applied a quick test. It's not a scientific test but enough to me to prove there's not a dramatic enough difference with the diffusers as opposed to without them in order to merit using them again.

Not really, they're going to throw light everywhere and get rid of any control you have over it. These things will only work well in very specific situations, and IMO, never better than simple ceiling bounce with a reflecting card.

I can see diffusers having it's uses but, now that I got the hang of TTL, I don't use these diffusers anymore.

I tried them but didn't see an improvement at all. They mask the flash too much for ceiling bounce to work and waste a lot of the light around the edges. IMHO they're just another cheap-ass gimmick that doesn't work. I'm glad I bought cheapo Chinese knock-offs rather than paying a premium for the Stofen which I'm pretty sure would be just as awful.
