Can anyone explain the difference between the two kits noted below. B&H# IMDFUMK and B&H# IMDFUMK1, both are described as "Impact Digital Flash Umbrella Mount Kit" and both sell for $98.95. As far as I can tell, they are identical. Is there any difference between the two?

I will be mounting Canon 430EX flashes using the HAMA, PC to Hot Shoe adapter.

Thanks,

John

I just picked up my second impact kit yesterday. I like them very muchm, but as the other responces indicated i dont think there is any difference between the two kits.

Just a quick FYI, the stands are compact, and the bag that they reccomend (Impact Light Kit #3) will give about 9 inches empty space with the brackets removed. You may want to consider a smaller bag, unless like me you end up with 2 kits, plus a backdrop stand, and reflector support arm in which case the width is perfect, and i fill the extra space with a small bag on top.

Also, CHECK THAT EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED!!!! the one i bought yesterday was missing both umbrella brackets. (B&H is overnighting them to me for free.)

Other than that, I find it a great deal for 2 stands, mounts, and umbrellas.

Quick follow up;

I read that since the hotshoe holders are metal, it is advisable to put electrical tape over them, to prevent any potential electrical malfuntion with the exposed speedlight's hotshoe connector.

Personally however, I forgoe the hotshoe adapter entirely and screw the bracket into canon's provided plasit mounts (the ones that come with the speedlights). The Impact hotshoe mount was too tight for me to comfortably slide the flash into and out of.
