Took these a few hours ago, using 300L and 1.4X II -- I'm in a continual state of awe how well this combo works, I don't think the 100-400 has been out of the bag in over a year!

Nice captures, but I think the second one is a female red-winged blackbird. Well done on both.

I see why you stated baseball with wings. It only needs to have the red stitching.

Yep, the second one is a femal RWBB. Note the difference in the bills. (I once posted a "What sparrow is this?" thread for this bird, so I understand the confusion.:oops:)

Very nice shots, and that combo always outperforms most anything else for that size. Kind of late in the year for a red wing though. :)
