This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the break down of the game. I will post a picture, that I like, resized to exactly 800 pixels maximum on the longside. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to the levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 48hrs and who ever can produce the best edited image will be picked and it'll be there turn to post there unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at it.

The participants must have there "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide a simple breakdown of how they edited the image so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

Also, please keep all comments be it positve or negative to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the a game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example..the next game should read (Before and After #5).

This is all about having fun so have at it!!!

This game will end on January 8, 2008 @ 10:30pm EST.

Whats the point in this? Your photo is pretty much flawless. I dont get it?

I though this B&A topic where ment to be a "bad photo make it better" thread.

I'd be more than happy to post one that needs more work if that's the general consensus... however there are things in this photo that bother me and I did want to see other's take on it.

I agree, some pic's won't need much fixing at all and the results will all be pretty similar except for Squashed's pictures. That is one way to make a pic stand out.. HA HA.. I am working on mine but the daycare kids are keeping me busy. I will post my play this evening..

Well I finely had a chance to have a play at this picture.. I didn't have to do much to it because it was a pretty good picture to begin with but I did learn something with it. After I played with it and started over 4 times I learned that less is more.. Okay I am still learning it.. But it was fun playing around with this picture..

Blur on the grass
Screen (40%)
Softlight (40%)
Slight color correction
Crop
Added a border

Thanks Everyone for the great ideas on editting this pic!!

1st: Have to give this to sports4ever_34 - My biggest problem with this shot is the backgound and this works well, although my masking is not working as good as yours (any hints on this ??)

2nd: HeatherSik - nice take on it Heather and I think you see the same problems with this as I do.

Kudos to SnlpeR for adding the shark - now if it had been a Bull Shark or a Black Tip then that would have fit my area much better :-)

Thanks again all!!

You mean like really edit it like this?

IMAGE: http://sis125.jorj7.com/fixit/three-pelicans.jpg

or did you mean just adjust levels and color, USM, etc? or just cut, put on another backgound and USM:
