I have a dirty sensor on my camera it was cleaned about a month ago with the blow dust thingy boyfriends moms boyfriend is a camera guy and he cleaned it for me showed me how to do it and everything. Well its so dirty right now with dust i tried to do it myself, but its not working nothings coming off i blow the air in there and it just stays HOW DO I GET IT OUT,You can't see it in pictures, but you can see it before you take them. At leasti coudln't find them in the pictures after taking it. Wouldn't they be on the picture if they wre on the lens or could they just be so small i can't see them. i even tried taking a picture of a white wall to see if i could see them.. HELP im getting so frustrated with it being so dirty.

If you can see the dust in your viewfinder then the dust is on your mirror or your focus screen. Don't worry about it. It won't affect your photos.

If you see it before you take the picture it is likely on the mirror and not on the sensor. It could also be on the focusing screen or the lens, but more than likely it is on the mirror.

It's in your ViewFinder.
If you really wanted to test sensor dust, then stop your lens down all the way, point to blue sky, and shoot.

You should see dust spots if your sensor is indeed dirty.

Sounds like you have dust on the focus screen. I believe any dust you get on the mirror will be to diffuse to see clearly. If it is not affecting you pics, you might just ignore it. If it really is bugging you, you can use the bulb blower and carefully give the focus screen a few aggressive blasts of air.

To do this, remove the lens. It doesn’t have to be in sensor cleaning mode, in fact that would just make things harder, as your sensor is still clean. Tip the camera up side down and at the top of the camera, you see a little plastic screen. It is about ½ inches by ¾ inches or so. With a bulb type blower, get the tip close but not touching anything and give it a puff. Be careful not to bump into the focus screen as it can be knocked out. Hopefully this helps.

If you don’t have a bulb blower, you can pick one up at just about any camera store or head to your local drug store and pick up a ear syringe. It will do the same job. They are very cheap, usually less than a few bucks.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
