Why does Photoshop Elements Organizer scramble the order of Burst mode photos?

When I download burst mode photos from my 30D into Photoshop Elements 5.0 Organizer the photos are never in the correct chronological order. EXIF shows only the hour and minute when the shot was taken, so how does PSE5 Organizer organize several pictures taken with the same time stamp? I would assume it would just download them according to what order they were shot but that hasn't been my experience.

I've tried to find out if it's possible to reorder photos in the Organizer but so far I've had no luck. I also tried to stack the photos but even when I Ctrl-click each photo in the correct order the stack doesn't show it.

I suppose I could change the time stamp on each picture so that they had consecutive minutes but, besides being tedious and too much work for large sets of photos, a long burst might then overlap later photos which would then have to be retimed as well.

Does anyone have insight into how PSE5 Organizer sequences photos and does anyone know if it is possible to reorder photos once they are in the Organizer?

I guess that PSE5 have the same "problem" as Lightroom when importing them. Usually they get sorted by import order and that's your problem. You only have to mark all the images after the import and sort them by file name instead. That is the only way as many of them will have the same time stamp on them.

Bollan, when I select a series of photos I have searched for any kind of alternate sort menu without success. I've searched in the help file for "sort" and the resulting hits don't seem to address this. How do you sort already imported pictures by file name?
