Didn't Nikon just anounce a new camera, snigger snigger, 12.2 Mp with a 1.5* crop....

Looks like canon does it again,

Actually with the price they have mentioned I don't think so - it will most likely have a UK street price of £5000.
If the Nikon 2DX is only £3500, then i will be dumping all my Canon gear.

So is the 8K an inflated retail price or is that what it's going to run?

To me, the really big news in all this is the wi-fi capability.

I like the wi-fi doohicky too It uses BP-511s

my god! here was me thinking canon would rip us in the uk off with a street price of £5000 when dpreview actually says £6000.

someone should tell canon that $8,000 = £4,457 - not £6,000
