Hey everyone.

Looking at getting a CPL for my new lens and have decided to give B+W MRC a go but there are two versions.

The 77MM MRC CPL (external link) and the 77mm KSM MRC CPL. (external link)

So whats the difference?

Cheers.

Edit: Apparently the KSM are "encased" for extra protection.

Is there any other differences?

The Kaesemann has sealed edges; useful if you're often in high-humidity conditions as it reduces the likelihood your polarizer will delaminate (polarizers consist of 2 layers of glass sandwiching a sheet of polarizing material). It's your call which to get. I don't get Kaesemann's; I haven't seen even cheap polarizers delaminate on me in many years use, but that's in the conditions I normally work; yours may differ.

Hi,

I bought the B+W 77MM MRC KSM as it was just a couple of bucks more...I really like using to CP with my 10-22MM and my 17-55MM lenses.

I have both KSM and Non-KSM. IQwise no difference. Buildwise excellent. For a few dollars more, I would recommend the KSM version. You never know when you'll need the extra protection.

I have the KSM one. If you get it from hvstar.com the price difference from normal retail is minimal and its worth it for the added protection.
