I have an old version of DPP (2005) on my computer and want to start shooting in RAW. I've hunted everywhere but can't find the link to download the latest version. If anyone can post the link I'd be grateful.

Thanks,

Hal

Then choose your camera (not that it matters which one you select for DPP).

....and I go to download the updater for DPP and all I get is a file not found message, canon is sure making this hard.

Thanks for the assistance anyway, I'll just use the old version that's on my PC

Worked for me under the 1D Mark II. Try it again. Make sure you do it right and select your OS first and are downloading the actual program file, not a pdf or some such thing.

Give this a try

Give it time to fully open the page and then select your OS

Megapixels and high ISO are a digital photographers heroin. Once you have a little, you just want more and more. It doesn't stop until your bank account is run dry.

I found that selecting the operating system is the key

Be sure to shut off pop-up blocking in your browser. When you select your download a EULA page pops up that you have to agree to before you get access to the d/l link. Its worth getting the latest version, DPP has been much improved over the years (even though it still has a way to go).

I only see downloads for the DPP updater, not DPP itself.

Your camera comes with a disk for DPP itself.

Does anyone else get an error while trying to install the DPP updater for the 40D? The dialog box pops up as expected but there's a error message in that box. Where else can this be downloaded from?

What does the error message say?

I've downloaded and installed the file DPP320_EN.exe (23.54 mb), Digital Photo Professional 3.2 Updater for Windows Vista/Windows XP/Windows 2000 because my last install, v3.2.15 kept crashing every time I opened it.

Now I have v3.2.08 again and was thinking I installed the 'updater' file,
CR2C100EN.exe (.79 mb) to get to the v3.2.15

What's confusing on the canonusa site is that both of these executable file I listed above are labeled the same, i.e. Digital Photo Professional 3.2 Updater for Windows Vista/Windows XP/Windows 2000...they're both called 'updaters'.

Now...the error that appears when trying to start the CR2C100EN.exe file is:

Error 404--Not Found

From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.4.5 404 Not Found

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

A Canon tech told me that .79mb updater was for the old D2000 camera, but agreed it should be named differently.

Now that I uninstalled everything and removed all occurrances of DPP from my registry I wanted to reinstall (but don't have the CD with me currently)....

...can I download the full version of DPP from somewhere? Since I don't have the CD I can obviously install the 23mb updater.
