Anyone used the online store JR.COM for anything? They have a Camcorder I want cheaper than anyone else online so thought about using them.

Thanks
JB

J&R Music and Computer World? I have not ordered from them online, but I have bought lots of items at their brick and mortar store here in Manhattan. They are reputable - well, at least the physical store is.

I've never bought from them online, but I've bought from their store. They are very reputable and have been in business for a long time.

I got some gift cards from my credit card points for J&R, so I got a 580ex from them and everything went fine and they shipped it quick. A few months later, I got a lens from them, and it took 2 weeks to process and ship the order. So one good and one bad.

Ordered from them back in the day. If you call and argue about a price, you will find that they are negotiable and can take off a few bucks for you. This was back when I was buying stuff for my personal use, and not business related.

You will also find that if you try to return something, they will try to offer you money so that you would keep it.

Just my personal experience with them.

Call them and ask about the item first, ask them if they can do any better with the price. Something they can. I purchased a videocamera from them years ago, I've never had a problem with any other orders as well.

got my XTi from them (via Amazon) and everything was fine. My brother used to get their catalog and order stuff all the time when I was a kid (I am going on 35) You can't stay in business that long without being pretty decent.

J&R has been around in brick&mortar and online since the dawn of time. I think they invented the internet.

Seriously, they have been doing it right for a long time. Can't go wrong with them. I've ordered from them a dozen times without one snag anywhere.

Now that you say that, I remember getting their catalog, I use to order blank cassettes from them by cases.

Ah yes, my chrome TDK 60 minute cassettes. No downloading digital files... we needed to have someone buy the original at a real store so we could make fast-dubbed copies because everyone knows a copy of a copy is just no good.

Man, this is a really easy time in history to feel old quickly.
