I've installed Elements 3 on my PC for occasional use, and it's taken over my computer! Every time I put a disk or USB stick in, Elements jumps up and asks what I want it to do with the files.

How can I turn that function off? I just need Elements to sit quietly and speak only when spoken to, like a good child.

Ta.

If using WinXP you can disable it from auto loading in the Services and or misconfig Startup Folder.

Probably a way in the Elements Preferences too.

I'm assuming PSE 3 has an organizer like I do with PSE 5. If so go into the organizer and under Edit Preferences Camera/Card Reader there is an option to uncheck Auto launch Adobe photo downloader.

Lightroom does this with the photo downloader. Lightroom seriously thinks it wants access to my Mp3 files on my Sansa? Stupid.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.
